Wedding rings and engagement rings to me are not gifts. They are a sign of commitment. Matching sets were big in the late 1960's and early1970's and have for decades lost favor. Here is a set that was designed to include heirloom diamonds (one diamond was from the Grandfather - an old mine cut diamond, another from the Father) and coordinate. The blue stones are cushion cut Ceylon sapphires. Ceylon sapphires were the favorite of Jackie Kennedy.
Ceylon was a country in India. It is best known today as Sri Lanka.
